START of Nirbhaya Fund Scheme :

Nirbhaya fund was announced by the then union finance minister, P. chidambram in union budget 2013-2014.Government contributed rs. 1000 crore for safety and security of women and their empowerment.

ISSUING of Nirbhaya Fund Scheme :

Nirbhaya fund was approved by union finance ministry.union government issued guidelines for this scheme on APRIL 1,2015 with a corpus of Rs.3000 crore.

ROLE of women and child development (WCD) ministry

Nirbhaya fund set up by union government under which various department can seek money from union ministry of women and child development (WCD) for scheme to improve safety and security of women.

ABOUT women and child development (WCD) ministry :

WCD is a nodal authority which would appraise these schemes to decide their suitability for getting funds from nirbhaya fund.ministry of WCD shall forward the suitable proposals to department of economic affairs (DEA).

(there is an urgent need of such kind of schemes so that basic human rights of women could be reserved since from rape of an upper middle class woman in uber cab to molesting of daughter and her mother in orbit bus,moga kand are increasing day by day.But other than these government schemes;we,the people of India need to take steps at our own level )
