Early life and education

Huq was born to Sunni Muslim Bangladeshi parents who’d emigrated to England in the 1960s in Hammersmith, west London. She grew up with Nutun, Rupa and her two older sisters, in Ealing, west London. She was taught at Notting Hill & Ealing High School in London and left school with eight GCSEs Along With A-levels in math, physics and chemistry. Early career

When she sang a solo in the age of 14, in 1989, Huq attended on Blue Peter using the National Youth Music Theatre.
