Famous Irish businessman and IT specialist Walter O’Brien is known as the founder and CEO of Scorpion Computer Services, Inc. He also inspired and became the executive producer of the CBS TV series Scorpion. His estimated net worth is about 10 million dollars as of 2016. How did he achieved such a fortune?
Walter was born on February 24th, 1975, in County Wexford, Ireland, and grew up on a farm. He is known for the statement that he scored 197 on an IQ test in primary school, but unfortunately he didn’t keep the paperwork. If this was the true, it would make his score the 4th highest IQ ever recorded, but there are many opinions that it’s not true and O’Brien didn’t retake the test through Mensa. He also claims that he hacked into NASA under the pseudonym Scorpion at the age of 13, but media said this incident remains unconfirmed.
Walter graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and artificial intelligence from the University of Sussex. In 1993, he was a member of the Irish team participating in the International Olympiad in Informatics computer coding competition. He’s active speaker and appeared for example on Lido Consulting’s Family Office Investment Symposium.
Allegedly he has started Scorpion Computer services when he was only thirteen years old, according to The Irish Times, he brought the business state side after graduating and moving to the USA. The company started as an IT tutoring service, which expanded into security and risk management. Walter is also a Chief Scientist at Langford & Carmichael, a founder of ConciergeUp.com, and a member of the board of the Houston Technology Center.
