Young talented American tennis player Sloane Stephens is currently ranked World No. 29 by the Women’s Tennis Association. According to some sources, she has an estimated net worth between $1.5 million and $2.2 million. Most of it originates from winnings as well as her lucrative endorsement deals.
Sloane was born on March 20th, 1993 in Plantation, Florida. She started playing tennis when she was nine years old, at the Sierra Sport and Racquet Club, in Fresno. At the age of 12, she joined the Nick Saviano High Performance Tennis Academy and switched to online-based home-schooling to maximize her training on the court.
Her parents divorced when she was little. She was contacted by her father after he discovered his illness, a professional American football player John Stephens, when she was 13, and he died when she was 16 in car accident. Sloane turned to tennis to help her overcome the death of her father and the revelation that he had pleaded guilty to rape charges in Missouri in 1994.
Sloane is an all-court player and she hits her forehand with a large swing. She often finishes points at the net and is a competent volleyer. In 2013 Australian Open she won the match against Serena Williams, one of her inspirational tennis idols.
