RuPaul Andre Charles known simply as RuPaul is famous drag queen and successful actor and singer. He even has his own TV show which is a drag queen contest and it’s named RuPaul’s Drag Race. No wonder he acquired quite a fortune. RuPaul’s net worth is about $6.5 million as of 2015. And he just recently released his seventh studio album.
RuPaul was born November 17, 1960 in San Diego, California. In 1980’s he was trying to make some breakthrough as a singer and movie maker but without any larger success. During those years he experienced lot of challenges but never gave up. In 1993, RuPaul released his first album Supermodel of the World and the single of the same name became a hit. That was the breakthrough hew was waiting for.
Today, he might be the richest drag queen in the world. He even received some modeling contracts like the one for MAC Cosmetics. Some of his following albums were Foxy Lady, Glamazon, and Champion. RuPaul also appeared countless times on TV, including Project Runway, Ugly Betty, Mystery Girls, and The Comeback.
He was able to afford some really nice real estate properties. In 2010, RuPaul was selling his luxurious apartment in West Village neighborhood of New York. This upscale property went to market for incredible $2.4 million. Ashe wrote in his book Workin’ It: RuPaul’s Guide to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Style, RuPaul tries to safe his money for hard times and invest into real estate. He still remembers his poor years and doesn’t want to be caught off guard if they return.
