In 1989, Fleming got married to actor Rick Ross. She gave birth to their two daughters. However, the couple divorced in 2000. Renee’s second husband is corporate lawyer Tim Jessell. They are married since 2011 and the interesting story is behind how they met. It was a blind date. Since 2015, Fleming holds an honorary doctorate in Music from Harvard University.
