Phil Taylor Net Worth
Professional darts player Phil Taylor is the first person in this sport to win more than £1 million ($1.57 million) in prize money. During his whole career, Taylor’s total prize money are £6.6 million! As of 2015, Phil’s net worth is about £5 million ($7.9 million) since it was lowered by taxes but boosted by endorsement deals and other side incomes.
Phil was born born 13 August 1960 in Burslem, United Kingdom and you wouldn’t bet much on his success in his early years. He had tough beginnings. Taylor left school when he was 16 years old and one of his first jobs was in production of ceramic toilet roll handles for which he earned £52 salary per week. He played darts since he was a kid but never on a professional level. He started training in local pub after his wife bought him a dart set as a birthday present.
In 1988, Taylor made it to a country team. He won Canadian Open the same year. His career in this sport skyrocketed and during the years, Phil won gold medals on many World Championships. In 2001, he was even appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire.
But darts aren’t his only income (although they make up for vats majority of his net worth). Taylor apppeared on OMG! Jedward’s Dream Factory, Coronation Street, A Question of Sport, and several other shows. He has four kids with his former wife Yvonne. In 1999, he was accused of indecent assault by two young women that voluntarily went with him to his van. What happened next know for sure only those three but it ended with Phil paying the fine of £2,000.
