Marco was born May 28, 1971 in Miami, Florida into the family of Cuban immigrants. Both of his parents are American citizens since 1975. Marco studied at Tarkio College for 1 year thanks to a football scholarship. He later switched to Santa Fe Community College and eventually received his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from University of Florida. As a very good student, Rubio didn’t stop there. He earned a J.D. degree from University of Miami School of Law where he graduated magna cum laude. He several times mentioned, that at the end of his studies, he owed cca $100,000.
At very young age, Rubio won the election to Florida House of Representatives. In 2010, he achieved a seat in U.S. Senate. At that point, he had a very strong support from Tea Party that preaches fiscal responsibility. However, he later lost some of his supporters from this part of political spectrum when he pushed for a large immigration reform and also supported large spending in military budget.
He married a bank teller Jeanette Dousdebes in 1998. They have four kids and still live together in their house in Florida. Rubio is a Roman Catholic but often attends also Southern Baptist Church services. 2015 and 2016 could be a very important years for his popularity and also a net worth. It all depends, if he succeeds in his ambition to become the next U.S President.
