Keith Carradine was born on August 8, 1949 in San Mateo, California, as a son of actress and artist Sonia Sorel and actor John Carradine. He has three half-brothers and two brothers. His childhood was difficult, he claimed once that his father drank and his mother was a manic depressive and schizophrenic. His parents divorced when he was only eight years old, in this time he spent three months in a home for abused children.
