In the past, he was the best Dutch Formula One racer until this year, when his son Max Verstappen won Spanish Grand Prix. No wonder he amassed quite a fortune. Jos was born 4 March 1972 in Montfort, Netherlands. Same as many other professional racers, Vestappen started driving karts as a child. At age of 19, Jos moved from karts to cars. He was first test pilot for Benetton team onf Formula One and progressed from there. Needless to say that his net worth also grew nicely. In 1998, Jos and his father took out-of-court settlement after being mixed up into some kind of assault allegations that ended with fractured skull.
Verstappen is married to fellow ex-kart driver Sophie Kumpen since 1996. Soon after the wedding, Sphie gave birth to their two kids, son Max and daughter Victoria. With their family background it’s no wonder both of them also chose career in racing. Jos and Sophie separated in 2008. His dating life after that was quite interesting.
In 2012, Verstappen was charged with attacking his ex-girlfriend. He supposedly drove car into her. However, in a short time the charges were dropped. Surprisingly, Jos and the very same girlfriend reunited in 2014 and she gave birth to their daughter later the same year.
