Famous chef Grant Achatz is a very successful and rich man. His Alinea restaurant was the only one to receive three stars in one of the Michelin Guide’s for Chicago city. No wonder he acquired such a fortune. Achatz’ net worth is estimated to be about $3 million as of 2015.
Grant was born April 25, 1974 in St. Clair, Michigan. As a youngster, Achatz trained at The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. He proved a huge talent and eventually received a job at Thomas Keller’s prestigious restaurant called The French Laundry. It’s located in Yountville, California and Grant met there his future wife.
He married his long-term girlfriend and mother of his kids Angela on upscale wedding. His wife is a former director of group sales at the French Laundry. They have two sons but probably aren’t living together since Achatz has a new girlfriend, beautiful food journalist Heather Sperling.
Today, Achatz runs own restaurant Alinea in Chicago, Illinois that won many awards. His net worth is further improved by his publishing activities. Achatz wrote for example coffee table book Alinea and also some digital cookbooks. In 2007, he was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma, type of a cancer. But he made full recovery.
