Emma Watson Plastic Surgery Before and After
International Breakthrough with Harry Potter Film Franchise
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born on April 15, 1990 in Paris, France to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson. She lived in Paris until she was five. Following her parents’ divorce, she moved back to her mother’s native country, England, where she lived in Oxfordshire.
After moving to Oxford, she attended Dragon School. Since she had wanted to become an actress at the early age of six, she trained at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts. By the age of ten, she had already performed in numerous Stagecoach productions and school plays.
When the casting for J. K. Rowling’s best-selling novel Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone began in 1999, Watson auditioned for the role of Hermione Granger. After eight auditions, producer David Heyman informed Watson and fellow applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been cast for the three lead roles.
In 2001, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was released, marking Watson’s film debut. The performances of the three lead actors were highly acclaimed by the critics and the film itself was a huge commercial success, becoming the highest-grossing film of 2001.
Watson also garnered five nominations for her performance, winning the Young Artist Award for Leading Young Actress. The following year, she reprised her role in the film’s second installment, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. In 2004, she continued to gain fame in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
Although Prisoner of Azkaban became the lowest-grossing Harry Potter movie of the entire film installments, her performance still earned her two Otto Awards as well as the Child Performance of the Year award from Total Film. In 2005, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was released.
That same year, she became the youngest person to grace the cover of Teen Vogue. In 2007, the fifth Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, was released, once again generating highly impressive ticket sales. She then won the National Movie Award for Best Female Performance.
In July 2007, it was reported that her work in the Harry Potter film franchise had already earned her more than £10 million. She then acknowledged that she would never have to work for money again. In March 2009, she ranked sixth on the “Most Valuable Young Stars” list by Forbes. In February 2010, with an estimated earnings of £19 million, she was named as Hollywood’s highest paid female star.
She was then cast in a project outside the Harry Potter film franchise with the 2007 BBC movie Ballet Shoes. She also lent her voice to the character of Princess Pea in the animated feature The Tale of Despereaux. In 2009, she reprised her role in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, as well as in the last two Harry Potter films, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 (2010) and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 (2011).
Recent Films and Plastic Surgery
She went on to appear as Lucy in 2011’s My Week with Marilyn, marking her post-Harry Potter movie. She next starred as Sam in a film adaptation of The Perks of Being a Wallflower. In 2013’s The Bling Ring, Watson starred as Nicki, a fictionalized version of Alexis Neiers, who was one of the Hollywood Hills Burglar Bunch.
She also played a supporting role in the film This Is the End, playing herself. In 2012, she was cast as Ila in Darren Aronofsky’s Noah, which was released in March 2014 to generally positive reviews. She was also offered the title role in the live-action Disney adaptation of Cinderella, but turned it down.
Watson is only 23 and yet people feel that she has been on the big screen for a really long time. Her youth and her formidable beauty and talent is what makes her one of the most interesting stars in Hollywood. With this, some sites have closely examined how she had physically evolved from the beginning of her Harry Potter journey at the age of 11.
When she became 19, people have noticed some subtle changes on her face, particularly her nose. If compared to her old photos, her “current” nose looks more refined, narrower with a more pronounced tip. Because she stepped into the limelight at an early age, people could clearly tell the difference, that is, if scrutinized thoroughly. As mentioned, if ever she had work done, it was very subtle.
However, in an interview, Watson seemed to not like the idea of plastic surgery, saying: “I find LA quite scary because of that—all those young people having plastic surgery. But the thing is, I don’t want to look like everyone else. I don’t have perfect teeth, I’m not stick thin.”
She added: “I want to be the person who feels great in her body and can say that she loves it and doesn’t want to change anything. It’s ridiculous that seems such an unrealistic goal. I think the actresses who are really successful are the ones who are comfortable in their own skins and still look human.”
