Chael Sonnen started his career in mixed martial arts back in 1997. No wonder he managed to amass an impressive wealth during so many years of stellar career. As of 2015, Sonnen’s total net worth was about $9 million. There were some setback though. In 2011, he was fined $2,500 and temporarily suspended since there was too high levels of testosterone/epitestosterone during his anti-doping test.
You might be surprised but Sonnen isn’t just mixed martial artist. He’s also a licensed realtor. In 2011, he didn’t have problems only with doping. He also pleaded guilty in the case of money laundering in connection with one mortgage fraud case.
In 2013, Chael made some incredible remark when speaking about his life in retirement. He said, that after retiring, hew wants to buy the whole WWE (appraised cca. on $700 million). He certainly doesn’t have money for such a purchase yet although his net worth is really remarkable.
Another of Chael’s ventures was co-founding Mean Streets Pizza company together with Lee Gamble. The business run into some difficulties when both partners filed lawsuits against each other. Sonnen eventually sold his share in the company. In 2014, Sonnen married his long-term girlfriend Brittany Smith. They have one kid. It’s a son named Theo and his wife gave birth to him in 2015.
