Brandon was born on December 19th, 1975, in Lincoln, Nebraska. In 1997, he finished The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ mission in South Korea after two years. Then Sanderson studied at the Brigham Young University and gained a master’s degree in creative writing.
He married his fellow English major, Emily Bushman, in 2006. They have three children together. Emily later became Brandon’s business manager. Brandon published his first novel titled Elantris in April 2005. A year later, he published the first book of the Mistborn trilogy, The Final Empire.
During his career as a writer, Sanderson published many pieces with huge success, which is the main source of his income. He is also a participant in the podcast titled Writing Excuses. Brandon’s first graphic novel titled White Sand is going to be released in June 2016.
