Famous NHRA drag racer Antron Brown competes in Top Fuel division with his Matco Tools Toyota. In 2012, he was the first African American that ever won NHRA championship. Brown’s net worth is approximately $3.5 million as of 2015. Prior to his dragster career, Antron competed on Pro Stock Motorcycle division.
Antron was born March 1, 1976 in Chesterfield, New Jersey. Both his father and uncle were also drag racers. At the age of 12, he started with motocross. He pursued college degree at Mercer County Community College where he also was a sprinter and long jumper. He received his Associate Degree in business administration in 1997.
From 1998 til 2007, Brown was racing in the NHRA’s Pro Stock Motorcycle division. He won 16 events there. It was his first full-time job right after leaving school. An he succeeded. Well, he had a training from his teenage years. In 2008, Brown decided to switch to drag racing.
His bet on the Top Fuel Divison proved to be a good decision. When he won 2012 Championship, Antron made it to the US history books as a first black driver ever winning major car racing title. This was so far a peak of his career. Brown currently lives in Pittsboro, Indiana. His wife’s name is Billie Jo. They have three kids together.
