Swamp People Net Worth
History channel created reality series Swamp People in 2010. It tracks lives of a group of alligator hunters from Atchafalaya River Basin in Louisiana. It’s a lucrative but highly seasonal business. Combined net worth of all current cast members is approximately $5.5 million as of 2016. And for example, Troy Landry, one of the most successful hunters amassed net worth of $650 thousand.
Every first Wednesday in September alligator hunting season starts for a 30-day period. But that’s not the only limitation imposed on alligator hunting. Each hunter is issued only a specific number of tags. One tag means permit to kill one alligator and if you run out of tags you are done for the season.
Most hunters gain vast majority of their year’s income in September. The rest of the year they either hunt other animals, such as fish and turtles or have regular full-time jobs. Swamp People became very successful and although it should end after 7th season, History channel just ordered season 8th.
Troy Landry is one of the main stars on Swamp People. He appears on the show since the 1st season and his record is catching 82 alligators in one day. His sons Jacob and Chase are working in the same business. With additional income from History channel, Landry gained a sizable wealth.
