Popular cappell band Pentatonix consists of Kirstie Maldonado, Avi Kaplan, Scott Hoying, Kevin Olusola, and Mitch Grassi. Since it was formed in 2011, the group already amassed some considerable wealth. Pentatonix members have combined net worth of approximtely $5.5 million as of 2015. Their recent small role in movie Pitch Perfect 2 was a nice side income for them.
The band was formed in order to win the third season of reality television show The Sing-Off. They met only one day before auditions. Some of them dropped out of college just to devote their complete focus and energy on the contest. And their dream came true. Pentatonix won and all of them moved to Los Angeles, California and started working on their career in show business.
Their famous studio albums are PTX, Vols. 1 & 2 and That’s Christmas to Me. The latter was was certified gold (for achieveing 500,000 sold units) by RIAA. They had the first concert tour in 2012 and earned some nice cash through concert ticket sales. In 2015, they received their first chance for a breakthrough in Hollywood, as they played Canadian team on Pitch Perfect 2.
The band is very active in philantrophy. In 2012, Pentatonix was a part of fundraiser concert in Boston for Mass General Cancer Center. They also expressed their sympathies towards The Trevor Project which focuses on suicide prevention inside LGBT community. How nice of them!
