Jim Cramer Net Worth
If you ever invested in stocks and shares, you most likely know Jim Cramer. He became famous mostly as a host of Mad Money but he started investing long time before that, while he was still studying at Harvard Law School. His stock picking was so successful, that he convinced Martin Peretz to invest $500,000 with him. Jim Cramer’s current net worth is approximately $100 million as of 2015.
Cramer finished his Juris Doctor degree at Harvard Law School but his career was already taking a different turn. His success with Peretz’ money and his other track record got him a job at Goldman Sachs’ Private Wealth Management division as a stockbroker. After that, Jim decided to work for himself and started his own hedge fund later known as Cramer, Berkowitz, & Co.
There’s no doubt that Cramer is an excellent stock picker. According to some sources, his annual rate of return is incredible 24% which is better result than that of Warren Buffett. However, Buffett achieved his numbers during a longer time period and with much larger capital (both complicates things). In 2005, Cramer started his Mad Money show at CNBC. It focuses mainly on investing into publicly traded stocks and offers unusual insights brought with a huge portion of Cramer’s typical emotions and energy.
In 1988, Cramer married Karen Backfisch-Olufsen. They have two kids together. However, the couple divorced in 2009. Cramer recently dated a real estate broker Lisa Cadette Detwiler. They got married in 2015. Congrats!
