Famous Japanese entrepreneur Momofuku Ando was one of the inventors of instant noodles. Before he died in 2007 at a very high age of 96, Ando amassed an amazing wealth. Momofuku was born March 5, 1910 in Kagi County, Japanese Taiwan into a relatively wealthy family. But he was destined to surpass his family wealth by a lot. He proved an entrepreneurial spirit, when he founded a clothing company while still studying at the Ritsumeikan University.
Shortly after World War II, Ando noticed long lines of people waiting for servings of freshly made ramen noodles. The idea for instant noodles was born. He created what will become a Nissin food company. First instant noodles cost several times more than fresh one and were considered a luxury item. As soon as price dropped, instant noodles became a booming business.
Ando married his girlfriend named Masako. She gave birth to their three kids. Ando kept inovating and in 1971 introduced to the market his another invention, Cup Noodles. He received many honors during his life in both, Japan and USA. He was an extraordinary man.
