Jack was born February 9, 1931 in Troy, Michigan. He studied at the Detroit Bible Institute. According to Van Impe, his father was originally drinking a lot of alcohol and didn’t believe in religion. But later he converted to Christianity and through the positive influence steered also young Jack to a positive path.
In 1954, Van Impe married his girlfriend Rexella Mae Shelton and as of 2015 they are still together. Jack had several healt problems lately. For example in 2006 he underwent two total knee replacements. NSAID medication he took for his arthritis caused him some other complications.
Some of Van Impe’s beliefs are controversial. He for example believes that there will be eventually an unification of all people under one religion called Chrislam which will develop by merging Christianity and Islam.
